- Take 1 drumstick
- Use 2 onions
- Provide 4 tomato
- Prepare 2 spring curry leaves
- Use 1tsp vadavam
- You need 1/2tsp cumin/jeera seeds
- Provide 1/2tsp fenugreek seeds
- Take 15 garlic cloves
- You need 3 green chillies

- Get 1/2tsp red chilli powder
- Prepare 1¹ tsp turmeric powder
- You need 1 small lemon size tamarind
- Get To taste rock salt

- You need 4 tbspn coconut

- Take 1 tbspn cumin/jeera seeds
- Use 5 dry red chilli
Instructions to make Cowpeas Curry/ Karamani Kuzhambu:
- Soak tamarind in 1 cup water. Keep all ingredients ready. Cook drumstick separately.
- Take coconut and other ingredients under to grind and make into a fine paste. Set aside.
- Dry roast the karamani and pressure cook adding little turmeric powder for 3-4 whistles. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add vadavam, fenugreek seeds and cumin seeds.
- Now add garlic and green chillies. Saute for few minutes and add onions and curry leaves. Fry till golden brown and toss in the tomatoes. Cook till mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and the ground coconut masala. Cook till raw smell disappears.
- Add the tamarind water, cooked karamani, drumstick and salt. Allow to boil for 10 minutes with enough water.
- Finally add jaggery and 2 tbspn gingely oil. Boil for 3 minutes and turn off stove.
