  1. Peel off the skin of potatoes and yams. Cut them into cubes. Perboil the potatoes and set aside. Put the yams in water. Add 1 tsp lime juice. Boil them till yam cubes become soft.
  2. Put 2-3 tsp mustard oil in pan. As smoke comes out, temper the oil with 1 tsp Jeera.
  3. Put the potato cubes for frying. After few minutes, add the yam cubes. Fry everything for few minutes.

  5. Add the masala paste.
  6. Add 1 Cup Black Chickpeas in the pan. (soak black Chickpeas overnight in water. Next morning pressure cook the chickpeas till the chickpeas become soft).
  7. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder, salt and sugar to taste, 1 Tsp Coriander Powder and mix everything.
  8. Cook till raw smell of the masala goes away. Add water as much needed. Cook till water absorbs the masala.
  9. Sprinkle 1 Tsp Garam Masala Powder and finish cooking.
  10. Cover with a lid and keep it covered for few minutes. Serve after with hot rice.
