The ingredients needed to cook Tomato Chutney:
  1. Take 6 big red tomatoes
  2. Get 12 cashews
  3. You need 1 onion
  4. You need 8 garlic cloves
  5. Use 2 tsp tamarind
  6. Provide 1 tsp jaggery
  7. Use to taste salt
  8. Provide 1 tsp red chilli powder
  9. Prepare 4 tsp sesame oil
  10. Take 1/4 tsp asefotida powder(hing)
  11. Prepare 1 red whole chilli broken
  12. Use 1 tsp split black gram (urad dal)
  13. Take 1 tsp mustard seeds
  14. You need 1/2 tsp curry leaves
Instructions to make Tomato Chutney:
  1. Wash & peel the outer layer of tomatoes.
  2. Heat 3 tsp of oil in a pan with chopped onions.
  3. Saute for a second then add garlic.
  4. Add tamarind.
  5. Now add cashews& chopped tomatoes.
  6. Add salt,red chilli powder, jaggery & 3 tsp of water.Mix well.
  7. Cover the pan with lid & cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
  8. Switch off the flame,open the lid & let it cool down.
  9. For Tadka:Meanwhile heat 1/4 tsp of oil in a pan with 1 tsp of mustard oil.
  10. When seeds crackleup,add urad dal,red broken chilli,asefotida &curry leaves.Saute for few seconds & switch off the flame.
  11. Grind the cooked tomatoes in the mixie till they become paste.
  12. Put the paste in a jar & pour the tadka on it.Serve with any meal.
