- Use 200 gms split black gram (Urad dal)
- Use 3 green chillies
- Prepare 1/2 " ginger
- You need 1/2 liter curd
- Use to taste Salt and sugar
- Use 10 cashew splited in two halves
- You need Few raisins
- Take Oil for deep frying
- Prepare 2 tbsp Cumin powder
- Prepare 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- You need Chopped fresh coriander
- You need 1/2 cup tamarind chutney
- Take 1/2 cup green chutney
- You need 1/4 cup fine sev
Steps to make Stuffed Dahi Gujiya (Dahi Vada):
- Wash and soak urad dal for 4-5 hours.
- Drain water and grind urad dal to fine paste with little water. Whisk it for 10 minutes with hand. Add salt and mix it.
- Make chilli and ginger paste.
- Heat oil. Now wet your hands and take little portion of urad dal paste on your hand and flatten it, keep one half of cashew, one raisin and a small portion of ginger-chilli paste on one side and cover it with other side. Deep fry Vada till golden brown on slow flame.
- Repeat the same procedure for all remaining vadas.
- In a big vessel take water add little salt. Now deep all vadas in water for 10 mins. Squeeze water out of all vadas and keep aside.
- Take curd and seive it. Add salt and sugar to it. And mix gently.
- Now while serving : take a bowl and place one Vada in it. Pour whisked curd over it. Add tamarind and green chutney above it. Sprinkle red chilli powder, cumin powder on it.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and sev. Enjoy your Gujiya Dahi Vada.
