Instructions to make Fish Paratha:
- In a mixing bowl add wheat flour, salt and 2 tsp oil. Mix well and knead it to a smooth and soft dough by adding water as needed. Cover and let it rest till filling is made.
- Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When they splutter, add onion and green chilli. Saute till onion gets softened. Add ginger garlic paste, turmeic powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and saute for a while or till the spices are done.
- Next add mashed potato and broken fish pieces. Mix them well with the spices and cook for a minute or two. Add chopped coriander leaves, mix well and turn off the flame.
- Transfer the filling to a plate and let it cool down.
- Take dough and divide into equal balls. Take two balls and roll them out to make two chapatis. Cut each chapati to make a fish like shape. Now place a spoonful of fish filling over one chapati and cover with the other. Seal it properly with the help of your wet fingers so that both the edges (i.e. the lower and the upper edge) stick together. Design it to give a fish look if you so desire. - Heat a wide pan or griddle on a medium flame. Put the paratha on it. Toast each side with 1/2 tsp oil until light brown spots appear on both sides.
