- Cut brinjal and keep aside
- Soak lentil dumplings (baadi)in water for 5-10 mins
- Make a paste of onion,garlic, cumin seeds and peppercorns.
- Heat oil in a kadhai/pan.Add five spices and let it crackle
- Now add the masala and keep stirring for 1-2 mins,then add turmeric powder,red chillli powder,salt and mix the masalas nicely until the raw smell goes away.
- Now add the dumplings in the masala and let it cook for 4-5 mins on low flame.
- Remove the dumplings and then add brinjal in the same masala,lower the flame and let it cook for 4-5 mins.
- Add peas and little water and wait for the brinjal to cook properly.You can check with a knife.Then add chopped green chillies and coriander leaves.Serve hot with steamed rice.
